GARY Hart scored the historic first goal at The Amex, then revealed he is ready to continue his career with Albion’s opponents.

The long-serving striker’s 70th minute header helped the Seagulls to a 2-0 win against Eastbourne Borough in the Sussex Senior Cup final.

Hart, released at the end of last season after 13 years with Albion, has been training with Borough.

The 34-year-old revealed to The Argus: “We will maybe try to sort out a deal and I’ve got no problem going there at all.

“It opens up doors. I’d like to stay in the area and still work around the Albion.”

Hart skippered the side in the opening fixture at The Amex and lifted the trophy after he was substituted in the closing stages to a standing ovation from a crowd of more than 7,000.

His goal completed a remarkable double since he also scored the first goal at Withdean, Albion’s former home, back in 1999.
