Roland Bergkamp has vowed to force his way into Albion’s crowded attack in his first season in English football.
The 6ft 3ins Dutch striker could feature again in the final leg of the Portugal tour against Olhanense tomorrow night, with Ashley Barnes at home on paternity leave.
Bergkamp is already competing for a place up front with Barnes, Craig Mackail-Smith, Will Hoskins and rookie Norwegian Toby Agdestein. Boss Gus Poyet is also still planning to add another striker to his squad.
Bergkamp, 20, told The Argus: “I’m still young and I need to learn a lot.
“I think I can do that and add something special to the team."
