Albion have made three changes as they look to launch a Carling Cup run tonight.

Romain Vincelot, Craig Noone and Will Buckley come into the starting XI against Gillingham in the first round tie at The Amex.

They replace Matt Sparrow, Kazenga LuaLua and Craig Mackail-Smith in relation to the side which kicked off against Doncaster on Saturday.

Young strikers Roland Bergkamp and Torbjorn Agdestein are among seven players hoping to get a chance off the bench.

Gillingham opened their League Two season with a 1-0 home win over Cheltenham on Saturday.

Their starting line-up is, as expected, the same as for that game.

Luke Rooney, sent-off after coming on as sub, starts a three-game ban this evening.

Gills' line-up includes keeper Ross Flitney, who once had a brief loan spell with the Seagulls.

Albion are looking to reach the second round of the competition for the first time since 2008, when they went on to beat Manchester City on penalties.

A crowd of about 17,000 is expected to be here to see if they can do it.
