Ashley Barnes has pinpointed a former team-mate as a potential threat to Albion’s unbeaten start to the season.
But the striker is convinced Seagulls can take the derby honours at Portsmouth on Saturday.
Barnes hit the penalty winner against Gillingham in the Carling Cup in Tuesday while Portsmouth were going down at home to Barnet.
He would love to add their woe but admits Albion must keep an eye on David Norris coming from midfield. Barnes said: “I played with David Norris when we were both at Plymouth. He has got a good engine and he is a different class player.
“He could hurt us but we will do our homework and I'm sure will be ready.2 Barnes grabbed the ball against Gillingham when Will Buckley was fouled and would love to be put on the spot at Fratton Park.
Asked if he would continue to take penalties he said: “I don't know but I would like to think so.
“It was good that the ball there and I picked it up. “We were practising penalties just in case it went to a shoot out but luckily enough it didn't.”
