Albion expect to have Gordon Greer back for Saturday's home clash with free-scoring Peterborough.
The skipper only played 45 minutes against Sunderland last night, during which time he felt a twinge in a calf muscle.
He left the action at half-time.
Poyet expects to see Greer back in training tomorrow and said: "We only took him off as a precaution.
"We've had him in and he is okay."
The Albion manager has confirmed Romain Vincelot suffered a dislocated shoulder, not elbow as he initially reported.
Vincelot requires further tests but misses the visit of Posh.
