Craig Noone has targeted a televised showdown with West Ham to help put Albion back on winning form.

The Seagulls have taken just three points from their last six Championship games after Tuesday’s 1-1 draw at Millwall.

They return to training today, preparing for Monday’s televised tussle with the second-placed Hammers.

Noone, who put Albion ahead at The Den, is ready for a few days of hard work and is convinced his side can score a first success since September 10. He said: “We have got almost a whole week of training really. I think we will be in training every day.

“I think in the other TV games we have played we have done well. The second half against Leeds was good and we did well in the Liverpool game as well.

“I’m not sure if it’s just the TV but we up our game a bit and everyone wants to do well.”

Boss Gus Poyet insists a win over the Hammers, who lost 1-0 at Southampton on Tuesday, is not a must.

The Seagulls boss said: “If we beat West Ham it’s a bonus. Let’s not get unrealistic again. It’s a game against a team who should go up.

“We will compete to win. We have got a chance of winning. We have beaten Sunderland and we can beat West Ham but it’s not like we have to.

“They have to beat us because they lost at Southampton.”

Meanwhile Noone has revealed lessons learned on the training ground helped him score his second goal of the season at The Den.

But he has conceded he must learn a lesson from his failure to send striker Craig Mackail-Smith in for an easy chance late in the first half.

The popular winger added: “For the goal I saw Macca go wide so I thought I’d tuck in and do his job.

“I went in the box and made a run to the front post, then made my way to the back post and no one was marking me so I hit the volley.

“We do that all the time in training. I know how to be in the areas because I put the crosses in there usually.

“I’ve learnt the movement off the gaffer in his sessions.

“My head was totally down on the other one “I was up there on my own and I thought I was going to have to do something.

“But Macca is lightning quick and he managed to get up there with me.

“It wasn’t until we were coming off at half-time that he said ‘you could have squared it to me’ that I realised.

“I know in future now to keep calm and look up.”
