Peterborough recovered from 2-0 down at home to Derby to snatch a 3-2 victory.
Three other sides had an opportunity to move above Albion but Ipswich lost 3-2 at home to struggling Doncaster Rovers, Burnley were beaten 3-1 at lowly Bristol City and Millwall were defeated 1-0 at Blackpool.
