Gus Poyet admitted to relief and delight as his side ended their long winless run.

Goals from Gordon Greer and Ryan Harley secured a 2-0 win for Albion over Barnsley.

The Seagulls had not won any of their previous nine games in the Championship.

Asked if he was relieved to get the three points, the Albion boss said: "It's a bit of everything. Relief, happiness. I'm delighted for the players, for the fans.

"It was about time. You want to think when you are on a bad run of results that, sooner or later, you are going to win a football game.

"The problem is it looked like it was later rather than sooner!

"I think we started the match well. I think we showed that everything was tuned in to win the game.

"I'm pleased with the performance.

"It helps when you play a bit better than we have been playing."
