Albion fans have been warned not to take Burnley lightly – even if their side go a goal up.

The Seagulls chase a fourth successive home win on Saturday against a Clarets outfit stunned 1-0 at home by Portsmouth last week.

However they have staged storming second-half comebacks to win their last two away fixtures, 3-2 at Hull and 2-1 at West Ham.

Former Albion and West Ham star George Parris saw Burnley silence Upton Park 12 days ago and said: “You can’t take them lightly.

“Speaking to supporters at West Ham before the game, they under-estimated them. That will probably be the case at Brighton on Saturday.

“But I think people in the know realise these are difficult games.

“Burnley are a decent team. In the first half West Ham could have been out of sight but Burnley were resilient.

“When they went a goal down they came out and played. They have got useful height and they scored two goals with headers, one in open play and one set-piece.

“On paper it looks like a Seagulls win but, from what I saw at West Ham, Burnley will keep going and will surprise a few people.”

Albion last won four successive home games in the second tier back in February and March, 2003.

They have attacking options with Will Buckley pushing for a start after bright displays off the bench in the last two games.

Burnley also have decisions to make in attack.

Former Swindon goal-getter Charlie Austin and Northern Ireland international Martin Paterson proved their recovery from injury by coming off the bench in last week’s 1-0 defeat to Portsmouth.

They will compete with on-loan Wolves striker Sam Vokes and 11-goal top scorer Jay Rodriguez for what could be just one out-and-out striker’s berth at The Amex.
