Albion have sent Craig Noone abroad in the quest for a speedy recovery to his hamstring injury.
The flying winger is having specialist treatment from a contact of Gus Poyet’s in Hamburg.
Noone is one of nine senior players expected to miss the FA Cup tie against in-form Wrexham on Saturday.
Seagulls boss Poyet said: “Nooney has gone to a specialist we really like.
“We have sent players there before but, until I get the phone call, I won’t know how it has gone.”
Even with Noone sidelined Poyet has attacking options for Saturday’s third round tie. But he is lacking defenders.
He said: “We are quite short, more so than people think because we need to put seven players on the bench as well.”
Development squad defender Grant Hall looks set to play a part against the Blue Square Bet leaders.
Poyet has offered guarded praise of Hall's debut out of position as substitute left-back in the win over Southampton.
He said: "It was a good start for him but it was the easiest start he could have had.
"It was 11 versus ten for half an hour. He wasn't at centre-half marking Rickie Lambert."
