ALBION could be short of strikers for tomorrow night’s FA Cup replay at Wrexham.

Craig Mackail-Smith suffered a severe eye injury against Bristol City on Saturday.

His first half replacement Will Hoskins felt twinges in his knee on his comeback and also has badly blistered feet as concerns continue over the firmness of The Amex pitch.

Mackail-Smith's left eye was cut, swollen and bruised after he was accidentally thumbed by Bristol defender Lewin Nyatanga.

Torbjorn Agdestein made his debut as a substitute and fellow development squad striker Roland Bergkamp was on the bench for the 1-1 home draw against Wrexham nine days ago.

They could be needed again and the Seagulls have concerns in midfield as well. They also lost 17-year-old Jake Forster-Caskey in the first half against Bristol with a dead leg which rules him out of the third round replay in Wales, while Ryan Harley was sidelined from Saturday's squad by illness.

Boss Gus Poyet said: “There was no one outside the squad available (on Saturday) apart from Roland Bergkamp and I need another two for the bench plus the two that got injured, so I am going to probably have to play four kids.”

Poyet will still be without hamstring injury victims Kazenga LuaLua, Craig Noone, Marcos Painter and Mauricio Taricco tomorrow night and skipper Gordon Greer completes a three-match ban.

“I’m not going to cry,” he added. “That is why you have a squad. If we are together like we were on Saturday I trust them.”
