Peterborough know Craig Mackail-Smith inside out.

But he has one or two surprises up his sleeve and is still aiming to show his former team-mates and Posh fans what they have been missing.

The Peterborough defence managed to keep Mackail-Smith quiet in Albion’s 2-0 victory at The Amex earlier in the season.

Instead it was Craig Noone and Ryan Harley, with a spectacular free-kick on his debut, who clinched the points for Albion.

Mackail-Smith said: “When you have spent so much time with people they know your strengths and weaknesses and know how to play you.

“It might be a case of bringing something different to the table that throws them or just doing a job where I take players away from the ball and make space for others to score. It’s not just about me, it’s a team game.

“I haven’t played against Peterborough at London Road so it’s going to be very interesting and I am looking forward to going back there, because I know how to score goals there.

“I was there for four-and-a-half years and it was a fantastic time.

“When I put the Peterborough shirt on I gave everything I got so hopefully the supporters will remember that.

“Football is a fickle game. I will be wearing a Brighton shirt and football fans are funny, so I don’t know what sort of reception I’ll get, but I’ll be going there to enjoy the day and make sure Brighton come away with three points.”

Meanwhile, Wolves have revealed they are willing to sell possible Albion transfer target Sam Vokes following his return to Molineux from a loan spell with Burnley.

The Argus revealed earlier this month the Seagulls’ interest in the 22-year-old Welsh international target man, who was signed by Wolves from Bournemouth for £300,000.
