Albion are luring Vicente back to The Amex by building the team around him.
Two more signings are on the way designed to help persuade the Spanish star to sign a new contract after the Seagulls launched their summer strengthening by landing former Manchester United keeper Tomasz Kuszczak.
Poyet, asked if the arrival of Polish international Kuszczak will make a difference to Vicente, said: "I think so and also we are very close to another two signings that will help him as well.”
The Argus website revealed yesterday that Vicente is on the verge of agreeing terms after his initially injury-plagued but ultimately influential impact last season.
He is still in Spain for the birth of his second child but Poyet revealed in an exclusive interview: “I think Vicente will stay. What we are trying to do is sort out a few little things that will make sure he is staying with us in a better and happier situation but I think it will happen at any time."
