Wayne Bridge believes his attacking style is tailor-made for Albion.

Now the former England left-back has his sights on securing regular Premier League action – for himself and the Seagulls.

Bridge signed on a season-long loan deal from Manchester City yesterday.

His arrival represents a major coup for Albion, who will pay a small percentage of his reported £90,000-per-week wages.

Bridge, who has been on loan in the top flight at West Ham and Sunderland since last playing a league game for City, has no qualms about dropping into the Championship.

But he reckons he could be on the brink of a promotion push at The Amex.

Bridge told The Argus: “I’m excited about joining Brighton.

“I’ve seen the stadium, I’ve seen the signings they have already made this summer and I want to do what I can to help them go for promotion.

“I was very surprised to see how good the stadium is.

“Of course I had heard about it but to see it was something else.

“I’ve heard about how the lads like to play their football and seen a bit of them as well.

“The decision to come to Brighton is purely football-based.

“I want to play week in and week out and I love the way Gus wants to play football.”

Bridge passed his medical yesterday and will join up with his new team-mates at training on Monday morning.
