Albion have given Wayne Bridge only a second start of pre-season.
The on-loan left-back from Manchester City starts in a very experimental Seagulls side away to full-strength Crawley in friendly action at the Broadfield Stadium this evening.
Albion include Matt McGiveron, a former Liverpool youth team defender.
Marcos Painter, who has recovered from a hamstring injury, is on the bench.
New Reds boss Richie Barker has named a strong 20-man party as he gets a first look at his players since taking over this week.
