Albion have named an unchanged starting XI to face Barnsley today – but with a new face on the bench.
George Barker, a young attacking player yet to make his first team debut, is among the seven subs as the Seagulls take on the injury-hit Tykes at The Amex.
Barker had an excellent pre-season and gets his chance with Vicente and Will Buckley absent.
Barnsley have former Albion keeper David Gonzalez between the sticks in the absence of Luke Steele and the suspended Ben Alnwick.
Steele was one of ten Tykes on the injured list in the run-up to the game but promising young defender John Stones has recovered to take his place in Keith Hill’s starting XI.
Albion: Kuszczak; Bruno, Greer, El-Abd, Bridge; Bridcutt, Dicker, Crofts; Noone, Barnes, Mackail-Smith. Subs: Ankergren, Dunk, Calderon, Harley, Agdestein, Barker, LuaLua.
Barnsley: Gonzalez; Stones, Foster, Wiseman, Golbourne; Cywka, Mellis, Dawson, Etuhu; Davies, Harewood. Subs: Lidakevicius, Hassell, Collins, Dagnall, Cranie, Clark, Rose.
