Gus Poyet has told his latest signings they will get their chance to shine.

But they might have to wait all the time their colleagues keep performing.

Poyet has decisions to make as his side chase a fourth successive win when they visit Watford tomorrow.

Stephen Dobbie, David Lopez and Andrea Orlandi all had to make do with short-lived home debuts off the bench as Sheffield Wednesday were beaten 3-0 on Friday.

Dobbie could get a chance if a thigh niggle denies Craig Mackail-Smith the chance to play against his hometown club.

But Poyet has told his signings they are all needed for a long Championship season.
The Albion boss said: “The options for me are incredible.

“When I announced the team (on Friday) there were a few players who I’m 100% sure were expecting to play.

“You are a new player, you were signed at the last minute and you come into a club and think you are going to play. When you don’t, it’s a little bit frustrating.

“Now, with all respect to them, they know why. It’s because of the way we have been performing.
“They are going to have a chance, sooner or later. There are too many games. Then they need to stay there.”

Albion produced one of their worst performances of last season when they lost 1-0 at Watford, three days after an encouraging draw at Birmingham. Poyet wants them to be more consistent this term.

He added: “Last year we were too good in the beginning, two months too bad, one great month, one terrible month, two months without losing. Consistency is the word. It is up to us now.

“If we perform the way we have been performing we will be higher than tenth, no doubt.
“How high? I think it depends on consistency.”
