Tomasz Kuszczak has revealed he joined Albion after rejecting Watford. The Seagulls’ Polish keeper could have made a permanent move to Vicarage Road early into a loan spell at the end of last season. Former Watford chief Sean Dyche wanted Kuszczak to stay for good but the 30-year-old is glad he kept his options open and signed for Albion from Manchester United in the summer. Kuszczak makes his 100th start in domestic competitions tonight back at the club where he suffered only two defeats in 13 games, including a 2-2 draw against Albion at The Amex in April. He revealed to The Argus: £After maybe three or four games I had a conversation with Sean Dyche and he offered me the opportunity to go and stay for longer at Watford. “I liked the lads and I was honest with the club. They offered the contract, they had their plans, but it was my decision. “I liked Brighton straight away. I wasn’t sure what was going to happen at Watford and the coach who was ready to give me the chance to stay for longer was fired a few weeks afterwards. That is why I think I did the right thing. “I still think Watford is a great club. I enjoyed my time there, because I had been in a difficult position. “I hadn’t played for a couple of months and they gave me a hand at that time, so I am always going to be thankful for that.”
