Barker: We deserved a slice of luck

The Argus: Reds celebrate victory at Stevenage Reds celebrate victory at Stevenage

Boss Richie Barker believes Crawley deserved a bit of luck as they came from behind to beat Stevenage 2-1.

Reds trailed to a 55th minute goal from Robin Shroot but ended a run of seven league games without a win thanks to strikes from Hope Akpan and Dannie Bulman in the space of four minutes.

Bulman's 69th-minute winner took a big deflection to leave goalkeeper Steve Arnold wrong-footed.

Barker said: "I thought we deserved to win, although we maybe got a little bit of luck with the second goal.

"There was only ever going to be a goal in it but I thought we definitely deserved something out of the game. It was no better a performance than in the last two or three weeks but this time we had that bit of luck you need.

"We haven't been getting the luck recently but even taking that into acccount I thought we were the better side."

We have been talking about luck or the lack of it for a little while now but the lads cirtainly took advantage when it came knocking today. Steve's explaination of the goal is spot on.
When you get a lucky goal after a bad run WHO CARES !!
Brilliant atmosp in the away pen today and relief all around.
A wonderful day out ! Roll on an exciting festive fixture list. First up Sheff United on Sat.
