Crawley have responded to four consecutive league defeats by signing midfielder Josh Wright on loan from Millwall.

Boss John Gregory moved quickly once the loan window had opened to secure the services of the 24-year-old for a three month period.

The former Charlton trainee has only featured twice as a substitute in the Championship for the Lions this season and is surplus to requirements at the Den.

Wright will strengthen a midfield which is missing skipper Josh Simpson through injury and was overrun in the 4-0 defeat to Rochdale on Saturday.

Gregory said: “Josh is a good fit for us as a hardworking, creative midfielder who has played most of his football at this level or above.

“He’s committed to us for three months and we think he has a lot to offer. He’s a very good footballer who looks after the ball well.”

Crawley are also expected to bring in another player on loan today ahead of their home match against Fleetwood at the weekend.
