Gwion Edwards hopes the best goal of his career is the first of many.
Edwards sparked Crawley’s comeback from 2-0 down at Coventry City on Saturday by cutting inside to curl a right-foot shot into the top corner from 20 yards.
It was the Wales under-21 international’s first goal since joining Reds on a permanent basis having scored twice in a brief loan spell at the end of last year.
Edwards said: “My first thought was to go down the line and slide Izale (McLeod) in because he had made a run but it opened up so I just went for it.
“I scored a few goals last year but this one tops it. I’ve been a bit unlucky this year as I’ve hit the bar a few times so it has been coming and hopefully I can get a few more now.”
He added: “No one likes to go 2-0 down but we sorted ourselves out. It was important to get back in it straight away and the second half we played much better.”
