Gwion Edwards has been called into the Wales squad for their European Championship qualifiers against Bosnia Herzegovina and Cyprus.

Edwards was notified of his call-up to the national side after scoring the only goal in Crawley's JP Trophy victory at Luton Town tonight.

The winger will join Reds team-mate Joe Walsh in Chris Coleman's squad for the games at Cardiff City Stadium on Friday and Monday.

Edwards rifled home his second goal in the space of four days six minutes after the break to sink the Hatters and put Crawley into the draw for the area quarter-finals for the first time.

Boss John Gregory said: "Gwion fully deserves it. It is a shame we will lose both him and Joe for the game against Peterborough on Saturday but it is also a great accolade for the club to have two full Wales internationals.

"I spoke to Chris Coleman this morning and he has obviously been keeping an eye on Gwion. He took a few knocks tonight but I got him off in one piece near the end so he'll be okay.

"He took his goal well tonight too. He hit it so hard that I think the keeper would have ended up in the net if he'd got in the way.

"We played some good stuff tonight and my only gripe is that we didn't make more of the chances we created."
