Boss John Gregory has ditched his cautious tactics for Crawley’s FA Cup first round tie at Yeovil Town.

Former Glovers striker Matt Harrold partners top scorer Izale McLeod for only the second time this season as Gregory reverts from his preferred 4-1-4-1 formation to 4-4-2.

Gregory had said in the week he was not sure whether the two could play together but was encouraged by their display in the second half of the 1-1 draw with Crewe last week.

Harrold’s inclusion – only his fifth start of the season – is one of three changes for Reds as they bid to extend a three-match unbeaten run.

Ryan Dickson returns from a knee injury which has kept him out since the goalless draw at Doncaster seven weeks ago. Dickson slots back in at left-back in place of Mat Sadler who has not been allowed to play in the FA Cup by parent club Rotherham.

The other change sees Jimmy Smith return on the right hand side of midfield having been on the bench for the last two weeks.

Conor Henderson and former Yeovil winger Lewis Young both drop to the bench following disappointing performances against Crewe last weekend.

Marvin Elliott – who scored both goals in Crawley’s 2-0 win over Yeovil in the league - is a notable absentee from the squad for the third game running despite Gregory confirming he is not injured. Sonny Bradley is ruled out with a virus.
