Crawley boss John Gregory has fulfilled his promise to field a strong team for tonight’s JP Trophy quarter-final against Gillingham.

Gregory makes just three changes to the side which went down 1-0 at Yeovil Town in the FA Cup on Saturday.

Gavin Tomlin makes his first start for a month alongside top scorer Izale McLeod in attack with Matt Harrold left out of the squad altogether.

Sonny Bradley has recovered from the virus which ruled him out of the trip to Huish Park and will play in his favoured central defensive position in place of Dean Leacock.

The other change sees Bobson Bawling come in on the right-hand side of midfield for skipper Josh Simpson, who is also not named in the matchday 15.

Otherwise Gregory gives the players he was highly critical of at Yeovil the chance to make amends by booking their place in the semi-finals.

Gwion Edwards plays despite suffering from a slight hernia problem and Ryan Dickson is preferred to Mat Sadler at left-back having made his return from a seven-week injury lay-off at the weekend. Sadler is on the bench for what is the last game of his loan spell from Rotherham.

Gillingham also name a relatively strong team with Peter Taylor making four changes from the side which went down 2-1 in the FA Cup to Bristol City.

Crawley (4-4-2): Ashdown; Oyebanjo, Bradley, Walsh, Dickson; Bawling, Keane, Smith, Edwards; Tomlin, McLeod. Subs: Jensen, Henderson, Young, Banya, Sadler.

Gillingham (4-4-2): Nelson; Fish, Legge, Egan, Martin; Dickenson, Hessenthaler, Doughty, Loft; German, Norris. Subs: Morris, Kedwell, McGlashan, Dack, Hoyte.
