Crawley have made their third signing of the transfer window with the arrival of midfielder Anthony Wordsworth on a three month loan from Ipswich Town.
Manager Dean Saunders moved to sign Wordsworth to bolster his midfielder after Conor Henderson joined Josh Simpson on the injury list last weekend.
The 26-year-old has made just one substitute appearance for the Tractor Boys in the Championship this season having been put on the transfer list by boss Mick McCarthy in August.
He joined Rotherham United on a three-month loan in October but only made six appearances for Steve Evans’s side, three as a substitute.
Wordsworth began his career at Colchester where he scored 35 goals in 199 appearances before joining Ipswich on a two-and-a-half year deal in February 2013.
Saunders said: “I’m delighted Anthony has agreed to come here because he’s going to be a great addition to our squad in an area of the team we need to strengthen.
“He’s aggressive, mobile and he can bring goals to the team as well. I know he’s looking forward to a new challenge with us over the next three months and to be playing regularly in League One.”
