Goalscorer Izale McLeod says Crawley must put their most recent away defeat behind them quickly if they are to avoid relegation from League One.

Crawley’s survival hopes took a big setback as they went down 2-1 at fellow strugglers Yeovil Town despite McLeod giving them the lead in the first half.

Goals from Chigozie Ogwu and Ajay Leitch-Smith in the space of seven minute condemned Crawley to a sixth consecutive defeat on the road and saw them slip below Yeovil to second from bottom in the table.

Reds take on Doncaster Rovers at the Checkatrade.com Stadium on Tuesday and McLeod admits they must bounce back immediately.

McLeod said: “After last week’s win over Preston we wanted to capitalise on that so it was disappointing to let the lead slip.

“In the first half we took a well-deserved lead but in the second half we didn’t deal with their physical threat. We knew they were going to pile on the pressure and we should be able to deal with that.

“It is disappointing as felt real opportunity to get back to back wins but we’ve got to kick on to Tuesday now. “We didn’t get carried away with the win last week and we are not going to be too down after this result.”
