Crawley have bolstered their dwindling numbers by recalling striker Matt Harrold from his loan at Cambridge United.

Harrold has netted once in seven games since joining the League Two club in February.

There was a 24-hour recall in his loan agreement which Crawley have now invoked.

They are struggling for numbers ahead of tomorrow’s trip to Scunthorpe with Dean Leacock, Darren Ward, Josh Simpson and Conor Henderson all sidelined by injury, Anthony Wordsworth suspended and Richard Wood having been recalled from his loan spell by Rotherham.

Crawley interim boss Dean Saunders said: “We need as many bodies as we can for the last few games because we are still struggling with injuries.

“Matt is back with us having got game time at Cambridge and he is in the squad that is travelling to Scunthorpe today.”

Harrold has scored one in 22 appearances since signing last summer.
