Crawley Town will step up their search for loan signings after suffering a fourth defeat in their last five games.

Boss Mark Yates has lined up two potential recruits before the transfer window closes next Monday.

Yates was only able to name five substitutes for the 2-1 defeat at Yeovil Town on Saturday following the departure of goalkeeper Darryl Flahavan and an illness which ruled out Luke Rooney.

Yates is well aware he needs reinforcements to avoid slipping further down the League Two table but admits his options are limited by a lack of money.

The Reds boss said: “We need to do something but what we able to do I don’t know. There are two possible loans who are available again so we will see what comes of that this week. We will do what we can but it is hard. It is where we are and I’m not going to moan about it. It is up to us to be better than were on Saturday.”

Yates is keen to bring in a second goalkeeper on loan but was full of praise for Callum Preston whose performance was one of the only positives during a dismal display at Huish Park.

He added: “I thought Callum was excellent. He made a couple of good saves so we know we’ve got a decent young goalkeeper there. We will look to get another goalkeeper in. We need a bit of help all over the pitch but we have got what we have got.”
