The two clubs very close to my heart clash at Hove tomorrow desperately needing victory.

Derbyshire - the club I started my career at - arrive on the back of an embarrassing defeat at home to Kent while Sussex - where I spent ten years as captain - are also searching for a first Championship win of the season.

It is a key game for both but I'll be hoping and expecting that Sussex will come out on top.

Their Twenty20 win at Gloucestershire last week will have lifted the mood around the camp and you can just sense that momentum is starting to build following a difficult start to the summer.

The morale in the dressing room will be turned up another notch if Luke Wright finally shakes off his back injury to play and the fact overseas player Ross Taylor is starting to find some form is another encouraging sign.

Hopefully Sussex can use the positivity that has grown over the last week or two to play some really aggressive cricket from day one and push Derbyshire onto the back foot immediately. And once they are on top they should show no mercy - sorry Derbyshire!
