DANNI WYATT is looking forward to a bonus lie-in – and a glory night at Hove.

The England star hopes to help Southern Vipers win Kia Super League as finals day comes to Hove tomorrow.

Vipers go straight into the final (6pm) by virtue of having finished top of the regular season standings. They will face the winners of the semi between Surrey Stars and Western Storm (2.15pm).

Defeat for star-studded Surrey in their final game let in Vipers for top spot as they beat Yorkshire at Arundel.

Wyatt said: “That was a bonus. It means we get a lie-in for one thing! And we will be fresh for the final. I was quite surprised. The 12th man ran on to the pitch and told us Surrey were going to lose and we were buzzing.”

Success would cap a brilliant summer for Wyatt.

She said: “We had no break since the World Cup.

“I don’t think people thought we would do this well and we have worked hard.

“We have a really good bowling line-up.”

Wyatt, who plays for Sussex, hails from Stoke-on-Trent and would love to go back to her home club as a KSL champion.

She said: “My elder brother played cricket but he quit when I was better than him!

“My dad still plays for the Whitmore club and I’ve played there with boys and men.

”I still play – it’s nice to go back to my home club.”

Sussex expect a crowd in excess of 3,000 at final day. Tickets, priced £5 for adults, £1 for children and £10 for families, are available via sussexcricket.co.uk or on the gate.
