Sussex's bowlers have been made to toil in the opening session of their first home game at the PROBIZ County Ground today.
Lancashire openers Stephen Moore and Paul Horton have put on 115 for the first wicket after Mark Chilton won the toss and elected to bat.
Horton survived one chance when he edged past Ben Brown at second slip in Naved Arif's first over but apart from that has cruised to 64.
Moore edged Monty Panesar's first ball between Andrew Hodd and Ed Joyce at first slip and has since moved on to 39.
