Dan Smith looks to have pulled on an Eastbourne Borough shirt for the last time.

The former Plymouth Argyle winger was transfer listed following his red card during Borough’s FA Cup defeat at the hands of Tooting and Mitcham last month.

Smith is available for the visit of Histon tonight after serving a three-game ban but manager Garry Wilson has hinted he will not be included in the squad.

The 20-year-old became Borough’s first full-time professional when he arrived at Priory Lane summer but has only started five matches this season.

Wilson said: “Dan is back from his ban but I don’t think he’ll come into the squad. His agent is trying to sort him out with a new club and apparently has a few things in the pipeline.”

Midfielder Matt Smart is also expected to be made available for loan – along with Simon Johnson and Michael Jordan – after being omitted from the squad for the last two matches.

Smart has made over 350 appearance since joining Borough in 2001 but has found himself down the pecking order this season, making just five starts.

Wilson added: “Matt was ill a couple of weeks ago and has not been playing as well as he has done for us in previous years so we will maybe look to get him out on loan.”

Neil Jenkins serves the second game of a three-match ban tonight while Marc Pullan remains a doubt after missing Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Mansfield with a groin problem.
