Eastbourne Borough defender Neil Jenkins is ruled out of tonight’s trip to Hayes and Yeading through suspension.

The left-back was due to complete a three-game ban at Chester on Saturday but because the game was abandoned after 72 minutes it means he is ineligible to play at Church Road.

Boss Garry Wilson said: “It is ridiculous. The game is not included in Neil or James Fraser’s bans but Kayne McLaggon’s booking does stand. Surely it has to be one way or the other.”

Gary Elphick has recovered from a bout of food poisoning and could return as Wilson attempts to tighten up his defence after conceding three goals at the Deva Stadium.

Wilson added: “Some of our attacking play was good but we left ourselves wide open at times so we might tweak a few things.”

Hayes are likely to give a debut to striker Steve Basham after he joined on a two-month loan from Luton Town as they look to record their sixth league win in a row while Borough bid for their first victory since beating Hayes 3-1 back in September.
