Lewes are hoping to re-sign full-back Lewis Hamilton in time for tomorrow’s trip to fellow strugglers Weymouth.
The 25-year-old was a member of the Rooks’ Blue Square south title winning squad in 2008.
Hamilton started his career with Derby County and made one league appearance for QPR before joining Lewes first time around from Aldershot in 2006.
A friend of recent signing Jean-Michel Sigere, he has been training with the Rooks since leaving Tonbridge Angels last month.
Manager Steve Ibbitson said: “We are hoping to sign Lewis. He can play right or left-back and we need to strengthen at the back.
“At the moment we only have five regular defenders at the club, the four we have had almost every week and Ryan Timms who has done well when he has come in. We need to make sure we are covered in that department.”
