Eastbourne Borough boss Garry Wilson has praised Paul Armstrong after the midfielder was released.
The former skipper became the third player to leave Priory Lane yesterday following the exits of Liam Enver-Marum and Marc Pullan.
Armstrong, 31, had been a regular in the Borough side after joining from Crawley four years ago but had struggled for form since a serious head injury in December 2008.
Wilson said: “It was a really difficult decision because of what Paul has done for this club. He has been a loyal servant and we want to thank him for that but we have got to look forward.
“We felt we needed a change and I think the time was right for both parties to go their separate ways.”
