Whitehawk are still on the lookout for reinforcements after extending the loan of Peterborough’s Michael Richens.

The Hawks had just 14 available players for Tuesday’s morale-boosting 3-1 win away to Basingstoke.

Sami El-Abd returns from suspension at home to Chelmsford but Richard Rose suffered an ankle injury in midweek which will rule him out while top scorer Danny Mills (dead leg) and Tommy Fraser (hamstring) are major doubts.

James Fraser also continues to be out injured.

Manager Darren Freeman said: “We have made enquiries but there is nothing yet. One of the players we have tried to bring in has gone to a Football League club.

“We have put two or three names out there and have spoken to managers about them. At the moment we are waiting on responses.”

Richens has impressed in the six games he has played since joining in December, either playing at right-back or in right-midfield.

Freeman said: “We have extended Michael’s loan for another month. He has been superb for us and he is willing to learn which is what you want.”
