Goalkeeper Lewis Carey was the hero as Eastbourne Borough clinched a place in the third qualifying round of the FA Cup.

The former Bristol City stopper saved two penalties as Borough won 4-3 in a penalty shootout following a 4-4 draw in their replay away to Ryman premier Enfield Town.

Borough will now be away to Kingstonian in the next round on Saturday October 11.

Full-back Marvin Hamilton handed the visitors a first-half lead but two goals inside 90 seconds early in the second half turned the game on its head.

Gavin McCallum then came on as substitute to set up an 81st minute equaliser for Dean Sinclair before providing the assist for Simon Johnson to make it 3-2 two minutes later.

But Enfield levelled on 88 minutes and then went ahead through a Ryan Doyle penalty in the second period of extra time, only for Dean Bown to force home an equaliser to send the match to penalties.

Dorking Wanderers were knocked out 1-0 in their replay away to Biggleswade Town when they conceded in the 89th minute.

However, it was a brave, battling display by Marc White's side.

In Ryman premier, Bognor enjoyed an excellent 2-1 win at Harrow Borough thanks to goals from Ollie Pearce and substitute Alex Parsons.

But East Grinstead lost 3-1 at home to second-placed Faversham in Ryman south after conceding three goals in the final 16 minutes. John Sinclair had put the Wasps ahead on 65 minutes.
