Eastbourne Borough loanee Josh Hare has been recalled by Gillingham.

The pacy full-back has impressed since joining on loan in November, making 11 appearances and scoring a 30-yard cracker against Whitehawk on New Year’s Day.

However, Gillingham have just parted company with manager Peter Taylor and caretaker boss Andy Hessenthaler has recalled Hare with a view to throwing him into the first team squad to face Bristol City in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy tomorrow night.

Borough boss Tommy Widdrington said: “We are grateful for a super working relationship with the Gillingham management and this particular loan has highlighted the strengths of the loan system, for all parties.

“Josh has now deservedly forced his way into contention at the Priestfield and we are delighted that his spell at Borough has helped him to do so. He has been a joy to work with and we wish him all the best going forward.”
