Former Albion manager Martin Hinshelwood has been placed in temporary charge of Lewes for their next two games.

Hinshelwood will be in the dugout for tonight's clash with Dulwich Hamlet following the decision of manager Garry Wilson and assistant Danny Bloor to step down yesterday.

The 61-year-old, who has been working with the Lewes academy for several months, will also take the team for their Ryman premier game at home to Enfield on Saturday.

Hinshelwood had two caretaker spells in charge of the Seagulls as well as managing them on a permanent basis in 2002.

He was also managed Crawley for one game along with Gary Alexander last season following the departure of Richie Barker.

Hinshelwood left his role as chief scout at Crawley in January 2014 to be reunited with Barker at Portsmouth. He left Portsmouth last month to take on a scouting position at Premier League side Stoke City.

The Rooks have only won once in their last six games to slip to sixth from bottom in the Ryman premier table.

A statement from the club said: "Martin has a wealth of experience, both in non-league football as well as the Football League.

"The search for a new management team is underway but in the meantime I am sure you will join us in wishing Martin well for the next few games."
