Eastbourne Borough’s winning run was extended to five matches with a 1-0 victory at home to Concord Rangers in Vanarama Conference south.

Richard Pacquette scored the only goal after ten minutes to keep Borough tenth in the table.

That is also now five clean sheets on the trot and a total of 490 minutes since Borough last conceded a goal.

Whitehawk, who lost to Ebbsfleet on Friday, remain sixth in the table – a point behind fifth-placed Gosport Borough with a game in hand.

East Grinstead and Hastings United both boosted their hopes of survival in Ryman south on a day when Burgess Hill were crowned champions with a 2-0 win at Carshalton (see separate story on The Argus website).

New signing Ricky Freeman scored an 87th-minute winner as East Grinstead won 2-1 at Corinthian-Casuals. Richmond Kissi earlier put the Wasps ahead on 53 minutes only for Casuals to level two minutes later.

Ole Bankole scored the only goal as Hastings beat Herne Bay 1-0. Fourth-bottom Hastings are one point clear of the drop zone, although third-bottom Ramsgate have a game in hand. East Grinstead are three points clear of Ramsgate, having played a game more.

Bottom side Horsham are now eight points adrift of safety after losing 3-0 at Walton and Hersham.

Worthing climbed to sixth but remain eight points off the play-offs after a 2-1 win at home to Hythe Town thanks to goals from Lloyd Dawes and Omar Bugiel.

Three Bridges are up to eighth after extending their unbeaten run with a 2-0 win at Redhill thanks to goals from Ben Godfrey (penalty) and Nathan Crabb.

In Ryman premier there were defeats for all three Sussex sides. Lewes conceded a 90th-minute goal to lose 1-0 at home to Harrow Borough, Peacehaven went down by the same scoreline against visitors Margate and Bognor lost 2-0 at Enfield.
