King leaves Lewes by mutual consent

Lewes have parted company with manager Steven King by mutual consent.

King was suspended by the club last Wednesday pending an internal investigation.

The subject of that investigation is not known but Lewes have confirmed it did not concern any financial issues or irregularities.

The club issued a statement tonight which read: "While the nature of the investigation must remain confidential, the Board and Steve King maintained different points of view which proved impossible to reconcile. Given the consequent impact on their relationship, both parties felt it best to part company.

"Lewes FC will announce a new first team manager and Coaching staff as soon as possible. Neither party will make any further statement."

Pleased to hear it was nothing to with financial irregularities. Time to move on and perhaps give Simon Wormull a chance.
