Eastbourne Eagles will stage home meetings on Sunday afternoons next season.

They are returning to what used to be a popular 3.30pm time slot.

The club moved to Saturday nights to avoid clashing with the powerful Polish League on Sundays.

But their move into the National League means they will be using young riders who do not yet race in Poland.

The league format will not be finalised until next month.

But Eastbourne expect to continue their rivalry with Lakeside Hammers.

The Essex track are likely to enter a development team in the National League while maintaining their senior side in the Elite League.

Eastbourne and Lakeside are likely to race a home-and-away double header on Good Friday.

Martin Dugard, who will help run the new-look team, is confident Eastbourne can challenge for honours and is in advanced talks with five riders.

Eagles will stage an open practice at Arlington on Sunday, between 11am and 3pm.

The cost to ride is £40 and prior booking through connor.dugard@dugard.com is essential.

Spectators are welcome, admission free.
