East Grinstead finished day one of the EuroHockey Indoor Champions Cup in second place in pool B.
The hosts will now meet Belgian champions Racing Club de Bruxelles tomorrow at 12.30pm knowing a victory will see them through to the semi-finals.
A terrific first day of action at the K2 in Crawley saw some great games between Europe’s finest eight teams.
It was a disappointing start for East Grinstead as they lost their first game 3-2 to Russians Dinamo Yekaterinburg despite goals from Mark Pearn and Niall Stott.
However, they bounced back in the final match of the day when they twice came from behind to beat Swedish champions Partille 6-2. Stott led the way with a hat-trick, David Condon scored two and Simon Faulkner got the other.
See The Argus tomorrow for reaction and pictures from day one.
