England captain Alastair Cook is ''99 per cent sure'' that wicketkeeper Matt Prior will play in the first Investec Test against India at Trent Bridge.

The Sussex player hurt himself in training on Monday and England called up uncapped Lancashire gloveman Jos Buttler as precautionary cover.

However, Prior, who has a minor thigh injury, looks set to play in the match which begins tomorrow.

Cook said: "We're 99 per cent sure that he'll be fine but we'll have a little check in the morning just to make sure.

''But all things at the moment are looking good.''

Earlier, the England and Wales Cricket Board said on Twitter: ''Jos Buttler called into the England squad as cover for Matt Prior, who experienced some mild tightness in his right thigh yesterday.

''... will continue to be assessed during training before a decision is made about his fitness for the 1st Investec Test.''
