Burgess Hill reckon they have passed a major test at the top of Ryman south.
Hillians returned to the top of table after Rob O’Toole headed a superb 58th-minute goal from Sam Fisk’s cross to clinch a 2-1 success at home to Tooting and Mitcham.
Former Albion defender Stuart Tuck, who was on the bench for Hillians, said: “With respect to the other teams we have played, we thought this would be one of our biggest tests and we came through it with flying colours.
“It’s a very good win for us. They are really good side, very organised, and the game was played at a fast tempo.”
Fisk put Hillians head on 22 minutes but Billy Marshall thumped a terrific leveller on half-time.
Meanwhile a seriously depleted Three Bridges side lost 8-1 at Guernsey, Alan Tait scoring their 75th-minute goal.
