Stuart Myall hit a late equaliser as Horsham drew 1-1 away to play-off rivals Margate in the premier division.

The former Albion defender headed home seven minutes from time to salvage a point from a game the Hornets believe they should have won.

They were the better side throughout but were hit by a breakaway goal 15 minutes from time.

Assistant-manager Tommy Warrilow said: "They scored against the run of play. We were the better side, especially in the second half.

"A point was the minimum we deserved. We had the chances to win it."

Horsham YMCA ended a run of three straight defeats as they beat Ashford Town 2-1 in division one south.

The match was effectively over by half-time as the visitors trailed 2-0 and were down to ten men.

Steve Davies broke the deadlock on 32 minutes after being sent clear by a great throughball from Pat Massaro.

When Davies was hacked down four minutes later, Ashford's Graham Porter was sent off and Dean Carden converted the resulting penalty.

Walid Matata pulled one back on 69 minutes but YM were good value for their win.

Manager John Suter said: "Over the 90 minutes we deserved to win. We missed a couple of good chances."

Steve Pickles scored a late winner as Worthing United beat Oakwood 2-1 to move off the bottom of County League division one.
