Two-goal hero Steve Harper believes Burgess Hill can still make the division one south play-offs.

Harper took his tally to 11 goals in 20 games as Hillians fought back twice to draw 2-2 at Eastbourne Town.

The striker dismissed claims the team is a one-man band and said: "The side has been relying on me for quite a few of their goals but there is enough about the rest of the side to feel that we just might just make the play-offs even now.

"I haven't had a full-time partner up front and it would be good to find another regular scorer but the system with myself in attack on my own has been progressing well."

Liam Baitup and Peter Cooper twice put Town ahead at the Saffrons.

Town boss Ady Colwell said: "It was a fair result, although without Steve Harper they would have lost. We've only lost once in the last ten games but we are still not out of trouble."

Worthing joint manager Danny Bloor slammed his side after they lost 2-1 at home to third-placed Met Police, who included former Rebels keeper Will Packham and Steve Sargent, Joe Keehan got a consolation after Craig Carley had put the Police two ahead.

Bloor said: "We were poor. It's not good enough to just be talented, you have to be streetwise, passionate and grown-up."

Horsham YMCA manager John Suter is desperate for a quality striker to help boost his relegation-haunted side.

YM lost 2-0 at home to Leatherhead, who netted through Adam Barnard and Billy Marshall.

Suter said: "We had four of five chances to win it. Our defeat was down to indifferent finishing rather than luck."
