Alan Pardew is expected to play at Three Bridges on Sunday less than a week after being sacked as Southampton manager The former Crystal Palace midfielder is due to turn out in a charity match organised by ex-Albion forward Simon Funnell, whose daughter Ella died of meningitis.

Funnell has put together an Albion old boys XI to play a Crystal Palace old boys side which has been assembled by Steve Kember.

Kember is still trying to get hold of Ian Wright to see whether he can play but has named the likes of Pardew, Mark Bright, Richard Shaw, Simon Rodger, Bobby Bowry and Dougie Freedman in his line-up.

The Albion team will feature the likes of Steve Foster, Kerry Mayo, Paul Watson, Stuart Munday, Peter Smith, Danny Simmonds, Russel Bromage, Jamie Moralee and Paul Emblen.

Funnell has also had confirmation Albion boss Gus Poyet will play along with assistant Mauricio Taricco and scout Zigor Aranalde.

The game takes place at Jubilee Field, Three Bridges, on Sunday at 1pm.

Ella Funnell was 17 days old when she died of Group B Streptococcus last December. Funnell has been trying to raise as much money as he can to raise awareness of meningitis and help fund the development of a vaccine to prevent families in the future losing a child to the condition.

He has already done a charity bike ride from Portsmouth to Brighton and is now calling on anyone who has played with or against him or remembers watching him for Albion to support Sunday’s match. Entry will be £5 by programme and under-12s free when accompanied by an adult.
