Eastbourne Borough are hoping to boost crowds for the rest of the season, starting with today’s game at home to Southport.

The club have introduced a ‘Kids for a quid’ scheme for the rest of the campaign.

Children will be able to stand on the terraces for £1, although there will be an extra charge for sitting in the main stand.

Youngsters with season tickets will not lose out as they will be issued with a £2.50 voucher to spend in the refreshment kiosks at each home match.

Chairman Len Smith: “We have got quite a number of home games coming up and they tend to be bunched together. If parents bring a couple of children with them it can make it quite expensive so we are trying to relieve the pressure a bit.

“It’s rare to have children for £1 in this division. I’ve been to grounds where it is £9 for children to get in.”
