Never justified

Regarding the ongoing debate on fox hunting, I totally agree that the fox is a pest and if it gets among your hens it will destroy the lot.

It is also a wild animal, so if you put your hands near them it will bite you.

However, none of this justifies chasing a living creature across the countryside to satisfy the blood lust of a small minority. Anyone who derives pleasure from this practice needs to take a long hard look at themselves.

I am not an ignorant townie but someone who was brought up in the countryside and whose family have worked on the land for generations.

Not everyone who lives in the countryside condones cruelty.

I agree entirely. And just this week I have come across a fox with a front foot half hanging off and the back one badly injured as a result of some sick evil **** catching it in a trap of sorts. These sort of people need knee-capping. All wild animals deserve a decent life same as we do.

Well said. In my opinion people who enjoy chasing a wild animal across the country on horseback and revelling watching some dogs tear it apart should have their head examined. They're sadists.

To talk about the 'blood ****' of fox-hunters is thinly disguised class hatred. The truth is that they perform a valuable service by getting rid of these verminous creatures in a fairly humane way. If they have fun while doing it so much the better, since that encourages them to kill more foxes.
